The Ashanti Regional Director of the National Service Scheme (NSS), Mr. Alex Opoku-Mensah has been suspended by the NSS after abusing a nurse at the Manhyia hospital.
According to a report filed by Joynews, the nurse who was verbally assaulted by Mr. Alex Opoku-Mensah, was removed from the Manhyia District Hospital after the incident to help her psychologically.
The General Secretary of Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) told the media that the removal of the nurse is to support her psychologically.
“As I am talking to you, we have removed the nurse as quickly as possible from the hospital. The said nurse is now being given psychological support to ensure her mental safety,” he told Joy News' The Pulse on Tuesday, 29th November, 2022.
However, Mr. Alex Opoku-Mensah has been suspended by the NSS as per an official statement released in the early hours of Thursday, December 1, 2022.
