Find out the reason why the spelling of AMBULANCE is spelt upside down in front of the trucks

An ambulance is a medically equipped vehicle which transports patients to treatment facilities, such as hospitals. Ambulances are used to respond to medical emergencies by emergency medical services. For this purpose, they are generally equipped with flashing warning lights and sirens.

The spelling of most ambulance trucks have the name written upside down. One can barely read when it is written in that way. However, the name was not written in front of the truck or car for pedestrians to read. It is however made for drivers to read.

The name is written upside down to help drivers who are in front of the ambulance truck to know that there is an ambulance truck behind. This can be explained that, the side view mirrors in each vehicle is designed to convex images. This means all names written in a proper order will change will others written upside down will show well.

The word AMBULANCE is written inverted because if it is seen through a mirror in the vehicles ahead the drivers see it as AMBULANCE without inversion and hence give way ambulance without any delay, especially in case of an emergency

Example, an ambulance is supposed to be 'AMBULANCE' in front of the trucks but it is written us 'ECNALUNMA'. This seems to be no word at all. However, the side mirror is made to make it fine when looking through it.

This is why the spelling of Ambulance is always spelt upside down on trucks.
