Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is necessary for the growth, development and repair of all body tissues. It's involved in many body functions, including formation of collagen, absorption of iron, the proper functioning of the immune system, wound healing, and the maintenance of cartilage, bones, and teeth.


1. Vitamin C Can Help Your Body Heal

Vitamin C is an essential component of connective tissue and plays a role in wound healing. 


2. Vitamin C Has Antioxidant Powers

Vitamin C is an antioxidant, meaning they can help prevent cell damage. 

3. Vitamin C Can Help Prevent Cancer 

Most case-control studies have found an inverse association between dietary vitamin C intake and cancers of the lung, breast, colon or rectum, stomach, oral cavity, larynx or pharynx, and esophagus.
