6 Disadvantages of using too much AC that affect the growth of the body.

A gentle blow of cool air is all we need in the sweltering summer. The more the mercury rises, the more is the demand for air conditioners. But being exposed to the air from an AC can usher in adverse effects.

Not just the environment, air conditioners too can distinctly affect human health. There are some side effects of ACs that you need to be aware of.

1.Dry eyes

If you already have dry eyes, staying in AC for too long can worsen symptoms. Dry eyes will feel more itchy and irritated if you have dry eyes. People with dry eye syndrome should prefer not staying in AC for too long.

Being dehydrated because of AC can cause headaches and migraines. Dehydration is a trigger which is often overlooked when it comes to migraines. When you step in and out of AC rooms or go in the heat outside suddenly after being in AC for too long, there are chances that you might get a headache. Also in cases of AC rooms which are not maintained properly, you are more prone to headaches and migraines.

3.Dry skin

Dry and itchy skin can be a normal phenomenon in people who sit in AC indoors for too long. Excessive exposure to AC along with sun exposure can make the skin dry and itchy. Your skin might return to normal after a few hours of being outside, but dry skin might actually stay for longer than usual.

While cooling the room, ACs, often suck out more moisture than necessary. If you set it to a low temperature, then the chances of the room going dry are quite high. Along with the room, ACs suck out humidity from the body as well. If you don’t hydrate yourself enough, the chances of getting dehydrated are high

People who stay for long in an AC room tend to become sluggish and lazy. Imagine how much this can affect workplace productivity! So, it’s always better to have natural ventilation rather than an AC at work.

6.Respiratory Problems

Constant exposure to AC can disturb the normal functioning of the nose and throat. It can lead to respiratory blockage and inflammation in the mucous membrane. ACs can also affect the lungs.
