A press release by a joint health professionals has hinted of an impending strike action. This is as a stale Condition of Living Allowance “COLA” negotiations between government and the various Labour associations.
In the press statement, the various health associations which comprises of Ghana Medical Association, Ghana Nurses and Midwives Association, Health Workers Union and Ghana Hospital Pharmacist Association, they have laid down some actions they will be taking if government does not complete the COLA negotiations by 22nd July this year.
From 25th to 27th July, 2022, the health professionals will wear red arm/wrist band in all health facilities.
28th to 31st July, 2022, there will be withdrawal of Out Patient Department (OPD) services
1st August, 2022, there will be withdrawal of all OPD and inpatient services.
If government does not address the grievances as soon as possible this will have dire impact on the health of the citizenry.
