On the other side of the world in Ilorin, a 12 years old boy's body was retrieved from the Asa River. The was identified to be Benjamin Lekan. According to information reaching us, the boy went with a few of his friends to swim in the Asa River which led to his untimely death.
The young boy's body was recovered by fire officers present at the scene and handed the body over to the boy's father.

Not long ago, a number of teenagers were reported drowned in the beach at Apam. Despite the corona virus pandemic restrictions, these children went out to have fun which resulted in their untimely death. Just after Ghana’s Independence Day celebration. One begins to wonder why such cases are on the spike just in the first quarter of the year.
People are advised to stay away from water bodies if you don’t know how to swim since this could pose as a threat to you if you find yourself in the water.This is a throwback of an incident which occurred in the rivers of Kwara State.
