Another lockdown to be observed in Ghana? This is the question I have been asking myself all day. Not only me but other Ghanaians have asked this question on social media. This question is being asked because of the new variant of the Covid-19 pandemic which has some recorded cases in our country. Some cases have been recorded in Achimota Senior High School. About one hundred and thirty-five students in the high school have tested positive for the new delta virus. They are currently receiving treatment. The first case was recorded on Friday, 2nd July 2021 after a traveler tested positive at the Kotoka International Airport.
The new variant of covid-19 which is known to be the 'delta variant' is reported to be more deadly than the first variant which was present with us in 2021. My opinion is that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo should address the nation on the dangers of the variant of Covid-19 so that all of us will observe all the safety protocols that have been put in place for us.
