The level of health care in Ghana has risen to an appreciable degree for which government is still working on to developing the system in To one of the best. As a measure to attain quality healthcare was the introduction of the National Health Insurance Scheme which went a long way to protect citizens who seeker for medical attention against financial issues. The scheme has seen an upgrade and more services has been added onto the scheme.

Reporting from the official twitter page of Alisha Manu, a political activist who was the former deputy director of communications at the office of the First Lady of Ghana, Rebecca Akufo-Addo and how the current deputy chief executive officer of the Ghana National Youth Authority, the National Health Insurance Scheme under the authorization of the National Health Insurance Authority is set to roll out free cancer and sickle cell treatments for patient last with the above conditions. It has come to the notice of the authority that, greater percentage of patients with the above conditions tend to lose their life as a result of low income to settle medical bills.
