“Now Ghana owns the Sweden Ghana Medical Center” — Philippa Larsen, the president of GNATS.

Philippa Larsen addresses the president.

Your excellency, between last year and this year by the Grace of God during my time in office and with the help of my principal officers who have gathered here, we have been able to do a few things.

The first one is that, the welfare of our members is most important and we are asking for donations but we realized that, Majority of them had issues with cancer and with the Sweden Ghana medical center established, we started deducting two cities so that we could treat our members who have contracted cancer for free by the Grace of God, the Swedish government had to fold up and give us the first offer.

I am happy to inform this house that Nat has fully bought the Sweden Ghana Medical Center and we want to upgrade and make it the best treatment for cancer in Africa and that means, we will have to do a few more things to upgrade the place.

The first thing we would like to do is by having a client or patient accommodation because normally the people who comes there for chemotherapy need more treatment and all that we have to retain that same day. So we want to put up a four storey building facility for client or patient where they can be accommodated.

We are also looking at putting up a staff accommodation because currently we don't have walls and so no health personnel lives in the facility. Some people arrived very late and they have no body to attend to them. So we want to put at that facility too.
