'Stocked' COVID-19 vaccines to be enrolled from next week - GHS

The Ministry of Health (MOH) together with the Ghana Health Service (GHS) have announced that they are going to roll out the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine from next week.

Dr. Kwame Achiano, the Programmes Manager at the GHS made this confirmation on an Accra-based media house today that, they are working on enrolling it for the general populace to be inoculated by the vaccine in the coming days.

According to him, the staff of the GHS and it's partners that are going to be involved in this exercise needs the required training to be able to take up this exercise and achieve positive results in order to avoid making mistakes.

Thus, the training will end within this week, though he did not specify the exact day it is going to be. He said that all those selected are having a nationwide training in all the 16 regions and per his checks, it has so far been successful.

Dr. Achiano made mention that all other vaccines are going to be rolled out and distributed to the various selected inoculation centers nationwide.

The GHS received 1,200,000 doses of the vaccine early this month from the United States government to be administered on the Ghanaian populace.
