What is Whitlow?
It is an infection that is caused by a virus called Herpes simple virus (HSV) the infection produces a painful wound called a whitlow on the fingers. The disease is contacted when a person with an injured finger comes in contact with the HSV virus. Although the virus is self limiting and usually disappears within two to three weeks untreated whitlow can sometimes result in something more serious like pain,discomfort,meningitis etc.
What are the symptoms of whitlow?
A person that have been infected by whitlow usually experiences pain at the finger tips, flesh burns,uneasiness, fever,and a burning sensation.
Treatment of whitlow.
Method( 1) heat about 2 cups of water until it is fairly hot. add a spoonful of salt to the water ( do not open the blisters) dip the affected finger into the water and salt mixture. Repeat twice a day for two days.
Method (2)get the following ingredients.
granulated cassava ,onion,and a piece of clean cloth.grind the onion and the granulated cassava together. Then rub a little on the clean cloth and tie it tightly around the affected finger. Change the medicine every day for the next three days.
