Dr. Michael Owusu who is a Clinical Microbiologist and a Lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, believes that the re- introduction of mandatory quarantine for persons coming into the country from high- risk countries such as India.
Coronavirus sometimes spread quickly when travellers entering the country are not quarantine. There should be measures that can restrict travellers, regardless of citizenship, must follow testing and quarantine requirement to keep Ghanaians safe.
Speaking to Joynews, Dr Owusu believes this will help curb the spread and prevent the importation of a new varient whilst the country works to secure more vaccines. His comments come on the back of information by Frontiers Company Limited that more positive case keeps on increasing.
