This is a deciduous and dioecious species of a plant in the mulberry family moraceae, native to tropical Africa and Southern Asia. Ficus Exasperata is also called sandpaper tree, white fig, sandpaper leaf tree and forest sandpaper.

Health Benefits of Ficus Exasperata;

* Root decoctions of Ficus Exasperata are taken for the treatment of urinary tract ailments, gonorrhea, asthma and tuberculosis. The root is an ingredient in a prescription to expel worms.

* The stem bark is locally applied on the body for the treatment of malaria.

* Leaf pulp or sap is externally applied for the treatment of rash, wounds, leprous sore, fungal infections, itching, oedema, ringworm, rheumatism, lumber and intercostal pain.

* The dried leaf is sprinkled on burns. The young leaf is chewed and swallowed in case of gastric ulcers.
