Opinion: Close Down All JHS, SHS And Tertiary Schools For One Week And Give Covid-19 Injection To The Students
The rate at which the coronavirus is spreading widely in Ghana is becoming worse everyday, numerous cases have been recorded after the 2020 elections, the number of active cases (persons infectedwith the virus) recorded so far is 6,404 with 588 people dead. The second wave of the covid-19 has spread through our various schools across the country, many students have tested positive for the disease after school was resumed.
Health professionals are calling on the government to close down schools to avoid students from contracting the virus but it seems the president is not ready to do that.
Scientists and researchers have come out with a vaccine to which when injected will protect one from contracting the virus. Ghana has had the opportunity to be given free Six hundred thousand doses of lifesaving COVID-19 vaccine from the UN-partnered COVAX initiative, the vaccines arrived on Wednesday 24th February, 2021.
The spread of the coronavirus in our various schools is becoming uncontrollable, in order to avoid the spread of the virus, I suggest the president should close all JHS, SHS and tertiary schools for at least one week and give injection to all the students. Taking the covid-19 vaccine will help reduce the spread of the virus in the country.
Are Ghanaians ready to take the covid-19 vaccine?
