The food and drugs board authority has approved two more Covid - 19 Vaccines for importation, distribution and use in Ghana.The two new vaccines are Moderna (Spikevax) and Pfizer BioNtech (cominaty).There has been rescent increase in the number of Covid - 19 cases and this has drawn the attention of the Food And Drugs Board Authority.This brings the total number of approved Covid - 19 Vaccines to be used in Ghana to be five.
The FDA has made it clear they are going to use the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) Pathway which is accepted procedure for all National Regulatory Authorities Globally in other to ensure timely access to quality and safe medical products including vaccines during this pandemic. “The authority therefore wish to assure the public that all the approved Covid vaccines have been subjected to rigorous safety parameters and therefore the public are to receive these vaccines without any reservations" , as stated by the FDA.
Most Ghanaians however don't think it is a Good idea to import Covid - 19 Vaccines into the country, with the fear of future quencequencies after one has been vaccinated.Most Ghanaians believe the vaccines are brought here in Africa for experimental basis.The FDA however is confident that the vaccines are safe and eintritt all Ghanaians to go for vaccination.
