No beds as poor patients at Wamfie district hospital sit on plastic chairs for treatment

Natives of the district capital of Dormaa East, Wamfie have channelled their calls to the District Chief Executive of Dormaa East, Hon. Emmanuel Kofi Agyemang concerning the wretched state of Wamfie District hospital. The hospital has been in a deplorable state for sometime and has rendered workers unable to provide efficient medical services to patients. It was a sad spectacle at Wamfie hospital as poor patients were spotted sitting on plastic chairs, to receive medical attention because the hospital don't have beds for them. This has triggered calls for Hon. Emmanuel Kofi Agyemang, who is popularly known as "Adwumawura" to address the situation.

The natives of the jurisdiction claim they have been neglected in Dormaa east despite it being the district's capital. Wamfie is one of the strongholds of the NPP, but the town lacks greately as far as infrastructure is concerned. The people of Wamfie feel the party have been ungrateful and have disappointed them by failing to redress their grievances. Some have already started contemplating to vote against the NPP as they believe that could be the only panacea to their infrastructure handicap.

Take a look at some of the reaction from the people of Wamfie.

Not long ago, the DCE of Dormaa East was adjudged the best DCE in the Bono region for the year 2019/20, beating the MCEs of Berekum West and East and the MCE of Dormaa central. One of the reasons he was given that accolade was his contribution to infrastructure development in his District and we hope in the next few years in office, he will make retrofitting the Wamfie District hospital a priority.
