Over 800,000 Ghanaians fully vaccinated - GHS

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has confirmed that a total of 823,467 persons have been fully vaccinated in the country.

In all, a total of 2,517,612 doses of the Coronavirus vaccines have been administered unto the citizenry as at last Tuesday.

Breaking it down based on the type of vaccines, the GHS says that 7,847 doses of the Russian Sputnik V have been administered and 650,135 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines have been administered. They also indicated that, a total of 165,485 doses of the American Johnson and Johnson have also been administered on a single dose.

This indicates that out of the total number of vaccine doses administered at the various health centres nationwide, the AstraZeneca vaccine tops it all.

Initially, the government of Ghana has said it is working to ensure that about 20 million of Ghanaians are vaccinated. These vaccinations according to the World Health Organization is bound to boost one's immunity, and prevent severe and complicated illnesses should the COVID-19 virus attack someone.

The GHS has said that it is making sure that all vaccines at their disposal would be fully administered to the citizens on time for prevent deaths and complications in every Ghanaian life.
