Kwashiorkor is a form of acute malnutrition that occurs due to protein deficiency. Kwashiorkor is a serious condition that can happen when a person does not consume enough protein.

Severe protein deficiency can lead to fluid retention, which can make the stomach look bloated.

Kwashiorkor is most common in children, especially if they do not have access to adequate nutrition soon after they stop breastfeeding.

Note: Other terms for Kwashiorkor include the following:

1. Protein Malnutrition

2. Malignant Malnutrition

3. Protein Calorie Malnutrition.

Now, let's talk about some causes of Kwashiorkor.

Kwashiorkor is the result of severe Malnutrition or lack of protein. Protein are responsible for maintaining fluid balance in the body. Insufficient protein causes fluid to shift to arrears of the body that it should not be in where it accumulates in the tissues.

Now, these are the symptoms of Kwashiorkor:

Children with Kwashiorkor often have very little body fat, but this is not always the case. They include:

1. Loss of appetite

2. Dehydrated

3. Lack of muscle and fat tissue

4. Changes in the color of the hair, which may appear yellow or oranges .

Those are some of the symptoms that you need to observed.

Now, let's come to ways to get rid of Kwashiorkor or solutions to such problems.

These are:

1. Vitamins: Eating vitamins often help boost your immune system and thus find it difficult to be affected with such diseases.

Vitamins like:

A. Oranges


B. Eggs

2. Carbonhydrate: Carbonhydrate also help fight some disease present in your body and find it difficult to attract some diseases.

Carbonhydrate like:

A. Banana

3. Proteins: Proteins are very good for the body and help maintain good relations.

They also fight any disease in the body.

Such foods are:

A. Corn

B. Cashew
