Ghana according to report was the first country in the world to have received the vaccine under the COVAX facility.
EFFECTIVENESS OF THE VACCINE RECEIVED BY GHANA – AstraZeneca.
An analysis made by The New England Journal of Medicine showed that the vaccine's efficacy in dealing with a person showing symptoms of the coronavirus was 55.1% within 6 weeks and 81.3% within 12 weeks. This shows clearly that the vaccine works with time.
The report also said that when a person receives two doses within the space of three months, the efficacy is on a higher rate as compared to receiving only ones even for a year.
Another report from livermint stated that the vaccine was found to be 94% effective so far as research is concern.
The government of the United Kingdom decided to leave a 12-week interval between doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine the same Ghana has received.
A new analysis of trial data suggests that a 12-week gap “might” be more effective than shorter intervals.
DOES THE VACCINE GIVE YOU COVID-19?
According to healthline.com, Although some of the vaccine side effects are similar to the symptoms of COVID-19, the coronavirus vaccines won't give you COVID-19. Also the vaccine will also not make one contagious in anyways. The side effects for most people may be mild or moderate and last only a day or two.
1,170 reports of post-vaccine deaths nationally from December 14 to February 7. This has been something that has brought a lot of fear on many relative to taking shots of the vaccine better still most people took it and are alive till now.
Finally, I presume that the Government of any country would not intentionally bring in vaccines to its citizens with the aim of “killing” hence we ought to have clear conscience, better still the vaccine shouldn't be forced on anyone.
