Covid-19: Worrying Trend As Death Toll And Active Cases Is On The Rise

As concerns grow over a possible third wave of COVID-19 in Ghana, it seems the figures gives credence to the fears.

Latest figures from the Ghana Health Service indicates that, there is an increase in the death toll and the active cases as well.

According to some health experts, the Virus is gradually is gradually spreading among the population as there is a spike in the number of new cases over the past few Weeks.

The increase in the number of new cases has been attributed to the emergence of the new Delta variant which has been confirmed in some parts of Ghana, including the Greater Accra Region.

The Delta variant is said to be more dangerous compared to the other variants of the Virus.

The Delta variant which was first recorded in South Africa has now spread to other parts of Africa.

The number of active cases in Ghana now stands at 2,601 after 156 new cases were recorded in the last update from the Ghana Health Service.

The deaths which used to be at 800 has now increased to 810 with the total number of confirmed cases now at 98,435 and 95,024 people recovering from the disease.
