Ghana Noguchi Memorial Institute of Medical Research (NMIMR) has cleared all covid 19 samples that were submitted according to the Head of Virology.
Ghana is the second country in Africa with the highest record of covid 19 testing.
A total of 130, 000 test have been conducted between 12th March 2020 to 5 May 2020 with 2.01% (2719) of cases been positive as at 5th May 2020.
According to Professor William Ampofo, by the end of Thursdays, the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine (KCCR), should also clears its backs logs which means Ghana will have no backlogs of covid 19 samples.
Any test that will be done will be from new cases that have been detected.
This means either the country is at the peak of the virus transmission or the country will be expecting more suspected cases since most cases are mild with little or no symptoms.
If cases are with no symptoms, it puts the whole country at risk since most people will be affected without knowing unless the incubation period of the virus has elapsed.
Its best to stay safe until research centers records 100% of all suspected cases to be negative.
