Negative effects of aphrodisiacs.

Aphrodisiacs are sex-enhancing drugs. They are foods, drinks, or any other substance that stimulate sexual desire.

Aphrodisiacs are not hard to come by as they can be purchased in any standard pharmacy. However, what most people don’t know is that sex-enhancing drugs is gradually sending them to their permanent end.

Most after-sex injuries and death cases recorded in Ghana were as a result of the use of aphrodisiacs.

We always value the immediate resultant of using aphrodisiacs overlooking the possible side long-term or short-term negative effects.

Let us take a dive into some of these negative effects;

While aphrodisiacs truly intensify and prolong sexual performance by means of increasing blood flow to the genitals, it can result in hypotension (drop in blood pressure). When there is a drop in blood pressure, it is even more dangerous than hypertension according to physicians, as it requires a lot of efforts to restore it to normal level. - Former NAFDAC Director-General, Dr. Paul Orhii

When you use aphrodisiacs continuously, you may end up enlarging your prostrate which might lead to urinal misfunctioning.

Sometimes, users of aphrodisiacs may suffer allergic reactions such as irregular heartbeats, loss of vision, hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.

When aphrodisiacs are used for a long period of time, it does the exact opposites of its purpose. Users begin to realize a decrease in the natural erection; and even after prolonged use, your body gets used to it to an extent it’s no longer effective. During these disappointing moments, people resort to higher dosage, which may lead to death.

Live a healthy life.
