The director of research and communication at PURC, Dr. Kofi Obutey has dropped some facts about the ECG.

Speaking with Alfred Ocansey on 3FM this morning, Dr. Obutey revealed that it is by law for the ECG to compensate Ghanaians whose appliances get damaged as a result of power fluctuations. He added that ECG had so far paid an amount of ¢5.7 million to Ghanaians this year who have had their appliances damaged as a result of power fluctuations(Dumsor).
According to him, before one receives a compensation amount, a team from the ECG will have to do a thorough investigations and prove that it was as a result of the power fluctuations that led to the damage of the appliances.
Ghanaians have reacted to this and below are some few reactions.

From the reactions above, some Ghanaians had no idea about this information. Some revealed that they have had their items damaged as a result of power fluctuations.
