In a recent statement, the President has promised that he is determined to complete 111 hospitals by 2025.
Many analysts have disputed his agenda openly as some have asked where he would get funds to execute such an ambition. Some financial analysts have made reference to the recent press release by the finance minister where he said that there will be no new public projects .
The Executive Director of the African Centre for Health Policy Research and Analysis , Dr. Thomas Anaba stated that there are two major reasons why he can not believe the realisation of "agenda 111".
In the first place, he argues that there are no funds for the project and secondly , there is lack of adequate human resources such as health professionals or doctors . He mentioned that the ratio of doctors to patients have worsened even more drastically over the part few years where one doctor is now required to attend to 12,000patients .
He has advised the government to assess what they can provide to the health sector instead of overly providing promises .
Dr. Thomas Anaba made this analysis on TV3 Midday Live as his contribution towards developing the health situation of the country.
