The MCE for Lawra, Hon Bomba-Ire Martin was joined by the Municipal Health Director, Dr Bernard Ziem on 27th May, 2021 to officially launch the newly built state of the art Clinic at Birifo Baapari in the Lawra Municipality. This means the clinic which was commissioned last year and handed over to the health directorate by the then Member of Parliament, Hon Anthony Abayifaa Karbo starts operating this day.
The MCE in his statement said he is very happy to be part of this ceremony where the much talked about clinic will now be operational to save his people from walking long distances to access health care. He said this has been the main objective of the former MP in lobbying and bringing such a facility to their door steps. He urged the community to take very good care of the health staff to ensure their comfortable stay and quality service delivery. "A community that despises workers especially health workers has a bleak future" - MCE added. He encouraged the newly introduced staff to put in their best to help the people.
The Municipal health director introduced to the chiefs and people of Brifoh nine health workers posted to the clinic including a physician assistant, a midwife and other nursing staff to start while more be posted later. He said 3 staff occupy the accommodation facilities in the clinic while the others stay in the community to ensure that 24hrs health service is available for the people. He officially also handed over the facility to the officer incharge.
