This issue of trained nurses sitting at home without posting whereas there are health facilities without adequate staff is mind-boggling. We have many hospital infrastructures that are abandoned in the bushes. These facilities when completed can cater for a chunk of the nurses sitting at home. So what is our problem now? Why can't we operationalise these hospitals that have been completed yet left in the bushes to rot?

What is surprising is that some of the nurses are alleging that bribes are being taken from them to post them meaning the vacancies are available yet someone is sitting on them. They are taking as much as 7000 cedis from some of these nurses before posting them. This is ridiculous and unnecessary. The nurses made these statements during the Inside Politics talk show hosted by Mugabe Maase on Power FM.
The Ghana Nurses and Midwives Trainees Association has served notice of embarking on a strike action to demand their 9 months allowance arrears owed them.
