Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah Has Offered To Pay Medical Bills To Save The Life Of An 8-year Old Girl

The Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi Constituency and Minister of Information, Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has in conjunction with Chief Jerry Forson paid fully to provide quality health care for a child who has gone blind to recover her sight.

Mariam, an 8 years old girl was taken to the Koforidua Central Hospital by her mother, Regina Sefa, but because she was unable to pay her bills GHS 1800, she was refused further medication. They again refused to allow her to leave the hospital. For about a week in the hospital, she was not attended to and no medicine was given her.

Initially, the teacher of the child, Lord Wiredu was the one sponsoring the medication, but he could not continue with it due to inadequate funds. The young child suffered from Meningitis and has gradually gone blind due to a lack of medication. Chief Jerry Forson mentioned the case on AdomFm "Dwaso Nsem" to seek help for the woman and her child.

Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah offered to pay fully the child's bill, cater for all her medication costs. Chief Jerry Forson went to Koforidua to pay for their bills, and see to it that the child is transferred to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra for treatment. The mother said that she has been the sole caretaker of the child since she does not know the whereabouts of her father for about five years now.
