A new opinions have being suggested contrary to the popular beliefs that the vitamin c supplement can cure Covid- 19 patients.
However according to Dr William Nii Ayitey Menson, Public Health Physician and Fellow in charge of Health and Equity at the Centre for Social Justice, vitamin c supplement may rather shorten the duration of cold.
The webinar program was purposely held to ascertain the willingness of Ghana to deploy vaccines to curb the coronavirus in the country.
Speakers who were involved in the webinar program included the Programmes Manager of the Expanded Programme on Immunisation, Dr Kwame Amponsah- Achiano, who outlined the national vaccine deployment plan and Mrs Helena Kemetse, an investment banker and COVID- 19 patient advocate. The program was however facilitated by the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Centre for Social Justice, Dr Sodzi Sodzi- Tettey.
Dr Menson however on the session refutes the motion that, Covid- 19 was purposely manufactured to depopulate Africa.
" Even if you get the vaccine, you should continue to wear a mask around others, wash your hands and practice physical distancing. There are a few reasons for this, the first is that both of the authorised vaccines require two doses given three to four weeks apart to achieve the best possible immunity, " he further on indicated.
Dr Sodzi- Tettey indicated that the Centre for Social Justice had begun an information dissemination campaign to provide citizens with much credible information about Covid- 19. He noted that the webinar program was the first time that the Ministry of Health had provided details about the National Vaccine Deployment Plan for COVID- 19,
He therefore went ahead to thank the Ministry for partnering the CSJ for championing the plan.
