Confirmed 50% Of Monkeypox Cases Recorded In Greater Accra

Monkeypox is a disease that is caused by infection with the monkeyox virus, the virus that causes small pox and variola virus are in the same family as the monkeypox virus.Currently the outbreak outlines some important practices that can transmit the virus from an infected person to an un infected person.

The Monkeypox can be that has increased in recent cases through human to human transmission in other words physical contact with other people and engaging in multiple sexual intercourse with different partners.

About six regions in Ghana which is the Greater Accra Eastern, Ashanti, Bono East, Bono and Upper West region has identified multiple cases, said by the Ghana Health Service.

It is said that more than 50 percent cases has been recorded in the Greater Accra Region and the number of total cases in Ghana is 34 and the capital city has the most cases being recorded.


Let us take the necessary precautions not to spread the virus by frequent of hand washing with soap and clean running water and also cover your mouth when sneezing or coughing, also avoid over crowded area, using of condom and report to a medical center if feel any symptoms.
