Third wave, Ghana's Covid-19 Cases on a Serious Rise. Delta variant in full force. GHS warns.

The Ghana Health Service have warned the entire population to begin the observation of the Covid safety protocols since Ghana is experiencing a third wave of the pandemic.

Our current active cases stands at 2,858 and the new daily added cases are 382, whiles our death toll stands at 812 as at 19th July 2021.

Dr. Patrick Kuma Aboagye, the Director General of the Ghana Health Service, confirmed the rise in Ghana's cases in the past weeks.

"Ghana's Covid-19 Cases are on a serious rise. Ghana has recorded a number of the new Delta variant in most of our schools and the general population" He stated.

He however assured Ghanaians of the government's efforts to purchase more vaccines within the shortest possible time.

The table below shows the update on Ghana's Covid-19 vaccination as at 14th July 2021.

The new Delta variant has however brought big countries with great medical facilities on their knees. Examples are; India, Brazil, United States of America and South Africa.

Dr. Kuma Aboagye in an interview on Peace FM's Kokrokoob said, the Delta variant is a super fast spreader.

"Since Ghana recorded her first Delta variant, our cases have kept on escalating by the day".

The rise in the new cases have significantly increased our death toll as well.
