In the huge, open air Kejetia Market, stalls sell everything from glass beads to Ashanti sandals. The National Cultural Centre offers craft workshops and dance performances.
It includes the Prempeh II Jubilee Museum, which displays jewelry and ceremonial clothing belonging to the 20th-century Ashanti king.
Promises were made by the government to transform this open space market into an ultra modern one. These promises have been duly fulfilled.
The project began in the year 2015 and an amount of $298 was set to fully complete this project. And today, the market is fully furnished.
The Kumasi kejetia market is a place to tour if you haven't been there before. Its beautiful environment can make you forget home.
Its the largest single market in West Africa with over 10,000 stores and stalls. The market is in three phases. It comes with a convenient parking lot for vehicles, modern bus terminal, clinic, police station and fire station.
It has CCTV systems powered by a solar power generation plant on the roof, a water reservation and a sewer treatment centre among others.
The facility is indeed a beautiful place you will love to see.
These are some of the photos of the market;
