31-year old man has been sentenced to 12 years imprisonment with hard labor by the Jasikan Circuit Court, for attacking and robbing a mobile money vendor of unspecified sum of money a Likpe Kukurantumi. Aglidza Obed also known as Eli was arrested for attacking and robbing a mobile money vendor at Likpe Kukurantumi, The acting Public Relations Officer (PRO)of the Oti Regional police command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) john Nchor, confirmed the story.
He said the New Ayoma Police, under the Jasikan District Command, arrested Aglidza Obed, also known as Eli, following a report made by a mobile money vendor at Likpe Kukurantumi. ASP Nchor started that the convicted armed with a machete attacked the complainant(name withheld)and threatened to slash her whilst she was on her way home, after close of work.
The police stated that a struggle ensued between the convict and the victim, and the complainant suffered injuries. He said Obed robbed the victim of an unspecified sum of money and Techno smart phone, and was arrested by the police at his hide out in Likpe Kukurantumi.
