The Asante Bekwai circuit court has sentenced 28 years old Simon Blay for robbing Sara Ofori of her yam phone, iced cream and money. According to the prosecution, Simon Blay took advantage of the quiet nature of the Bekwai Adventist road to commit the crime.
Simon Blay reportedly invited Sara at the pretence of buying iced cream. He quickly pulled a pair of scissors from his pocket and threatened to stab Sara if she attempts to make any noise.
He quickly took the sales of the day amounting to Seven Ghana Cedis and Sara's Yam phone worth twenty five Ghana Cedis. He also took the remaining iced cream.
After filing police complaint, Simon Blay was located at his hide out. When the Police got there, he had eaten all the Iced Cream and thrown the container somewhere.
He had removed Sara's sim card and placed his own in the Yam phone for use. The Police quickly arrested him and proceeded him to court.
Per the attack with scissors, stealing and causing psychological Break to Sara, Simon Blay was given 10 years with Hard labor.
