Police Official Statement on High Court Verdict for Arise Ghana Demonstration

The Ghana Police service has released an official statement on the High Court verdict for the Arise Ghana Demonstration slated for tomorrow 28th June 2022.

According to the Police update, the High Court has determined the Time, Route and Location for the Arise Ghana’s Demonstration. The demonstrators are to converge at Obra Sports and terminate the demonstration at the Independence square. The demonstrators are required to commence at 8am and end at the most waiting at 4pm.

A representative from the office of the president will receive the petition if any and finally the organizers of the demonstration to ensure strict compliance with Public Order act.

The police noted that they have contacted the Arise Ghana organisers and assured them their commitment to provide the necessary protection during the demonstration.

It would be recalled that the Ghana police in a statement yesterday said they were unable to reach an agreement with the organizers on the time and location for the stipulated demonstration and therefore, they had refered the matter to the high Court for determination. Attached is a copy of the statement from the Ghana Police service.

It is hopeful that they will comply with the detectives.
