Maurice Ampaw is one of the lawyers whose political allegiance is clearly spelt out. The pro NPP lawyer has not hidden hi love for the ruling New Patriotic Party. Over the years since his first public appearance on TV3 during the election petition in 2013, Maurice Ampaw has gone on to appear on many problems and expressed his thoughts on issues bothering on law. The lecturer has been criticized by many for his partisan nature.
Many claim that he is nothing but a TV lawyer, who does nothing but sits on TV and criticize his political rivals. Maurice is considered to be one of the greatest critics of John Mahama and the NDC. Lawyer Ampaw appearing tonight, Sunday, October 3, 2021 on Mmra Nee Abrabo Mu Nsem expressed joy at 20 years of being called to the Bar. He noted that this is an achievement that many try to accomplish and fail. He sent a caution to his critics to be quiet and admire him because he is one of the best Ghana has to offer. He insisted that he has taught more than 60 people who have gone out to become lawyers.
“I am one of the simple lawyers you will meet. I have handled cases that most lawyers run away from. In 2012 during the election petition see what I did. Every lawyer and judge was watching me. I have taught more than 60 good lawyers in Ghana. In media I have taught many media practitioners. It’s been 20 years since I was called to the bar. Many enter and have problems but I have distinguished myself. I have won many cases and won awards” Maurice Ampaw said.
Many see lawyer Ampaw as a paid lawyer in the books of the NPP. Be that as it may, he is a vociferous talker and causes stir whenever he speaks. Many await to see him handle a big case in court.
