The Fix the country campaign is still trending and has within some few months become a versatile force. A collection of simple tweets some months ago started a wildfire that has seen protests upon protests on the leadership of President Akufo-Addo. The first of such demonstrations happened in Spain. This was followed by one in the United Kingdom. Then came the massive Ghana version.
Today, Saturday, August 14, 2021 the streets of Dortmund were hit by aggrieved Ghanaians calling themselves Freedom Fighters. They hit the streets with their placards and Ghana flags to show their displeasure with the standard of living of their Ghanaian siblings at home.
“We are sending a strong warning to the leaders of the country. The president made huge promises and yet we can’t see anything. For people like Hopeson Adorye, we don’t have his time. We have no time to talk about stomach politicians. What our leaders are doing is foolery. We will not relent in our demands. We want better schools, hospitals and the improvement of living conditions” the convener said while delivering his speech.
“Dr. Bawumia says he is being haunted by demons. I promise him that he has not seen anything. He should prepare for more fire. We are going to join our brothers and fight until we see changes. If Akufo-Addo fails to listen to us, we will visit him at the Jubilee House. We will walk there naked and prove to him that we gave birth to him. Nobody can stop us. He has disappointed us and needs to wake up” one lady said.
She called on her other colleagues to get ready in Ghana because very soon they will join them and send a strong caution to the country’s leaders that they cannot take Ghanaians for a ride. She explained that both the NDC and NPP have failed and the time had come for Ghanaians to be wise and do the needful.
