The National Zongo Caucus of NDC has noticed with great shock by the level of silence demonstrated by the vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia on the treated meted on Muslims in the various schools expecially Westley Girls Senior High School by preventing Muslims from fighting.
According to the National Zongo Caucus of NDC, Bawumia's decision to remain quiet on this issue only means he has snub the Zongo Community and the Chief Imam who are all fighting for equality in the schools.
They said the chief Imam released a statement to express his displeasure in the said discriminatory directive of the headmistress, the Coalition of Muslim Organizations in Ghana (Comog) and other Muslim members of parliament has also added their voice for the same call.
According to them, despite all the calls from the Muslim community, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia has remained quiet on the issue. He has disregarded the pressing issues affecting the Muslim students
Therefore, according to the National Zongo Caucus of NDC, the silence of Bawumia on this important subject is a disappointment to the plight of Muslims he represent
They finally commended any Muslim that spoke for this call and against the action of the headmistress and appealed to all Institutions to also desist from such act.
