Everybody was expectant of today's hearing of the substantive matter of the Member of the Member of Parliament for the Assin North constituency, Honorable James Gyakye Quayson. However, it was later announced in court that it cannot and will not come on today. When this news broke out, many people suggested that this was part of the attempt of the government to slow down the process.
Chief Justice Kwasi Anin Yeboah announced in open court that a member of the panel, Justice Gertrude Torkornoo, has lost her father. He further explained that there might be some substitution of the panel members if the situation persist.
This is a convincing reason and perhaps, it will be in the best interest of the country if they substitute Justice Gertrude Torkornoo since the psychological condition of the person hearing the case is very important.
