Parade protest

Incident free demonstration - Police commend the people of Kroboland

The Ghana Police in a statement released today has commend the people of Kroboland for a peaceful demonontration.

The people of Kroboland did a demonstration on July 1 to register their displeasure of the government’s inability to respond to their petition about the involvement of military personnel deployed to assist the ECG in the ongoing prepaid meter installation.

The demonstration which started from the Santa lorry station at 9am ended at Kpong at 2pm.

Compared to the recent Arise Ghana demo which took place in Accra which was characterized with pelting police officers with stones, tyre burning, damaging of police vehicles and above all, injuring of Police officers which resulted in some being hospitalized, this demonstration by the people of Kroboland was incident free.

The police therefore wishes to commend the people for the peaceful demonstration.

The statement also said the police "hope that all future demonstration will be done in a similar fashion to deepen our Democratic credentials as a country and improve law and order".

We want to also commend the people of Kroboland for this and also ask all Ghanaians to draw a lesson from what they have done and take after their steps.
