Communication officer of the New Patriotic Party Kamal Deen Abdulai has urged lawyer Amalba to render unqualified apology to Ghanaians for referring the Ghana cedis as a toilet paper.
Speaking today on TV3 newday, lawyer Amalba said the Ghana cedi has become very useless and cannot be used for anything. He said the cedi has depreciated to the level that it should be regarded as a toilet paper. He said with the current exchange rate of cedi, one cannot even buy water.
In reaction to the statement, Kamal Deen Abdulai urged Amalba to apologize for such a statement because the cedi despite being the worse performing currency now, is still Ghana's legal tender and hence must be respected.
He told Johnny Hudges that refering the cedi which is a legal tender a high treason that can come with dire consequences. He said the government and the economic management team are working on stabilizing the cedi.
