News on Dr. Dominic Ayine has gone viral this week. Many news portals reported of the former deputy Attorney General being in trouble for some comments he made. In a letter dated 25th May, 2021, the Chief Justice reported to the General Legal Council and asked for an enquiry into certain comments made by Dr. Ayine.
It can be recalled that in an interview with Evans Mensah on Joy News, Dr. Ayine made some comments regarding the Judiciary and their adjudication of the 2020 election petition. According to Chief Justice Anin Yeboah, the comments were not deserving of a former Attorney General. He called on the General Legal Council to investigate the comments.

By law the members should comprise of the Chief Justice who will be chairman, a deputy chairman, 2 senior Chief Justices, Attorney General, Head of the Faculty of Law of the University of Ghana, 3 persons nominated by the minister and 4 persons elected by the Ghana Bar Association.
Chief Justice Anin Yeboah, Justice Yaw Appau, Justice Dotse, Justice Paul Baffoe Bonnie will represent the Chairman, deputy and 2 senior justices. Others include Godfred Dame, the Attorney General, Alfred Tuah Yeboah, the deputy Attorney General designate, Justin Amenuvor, Raymond Atuguba (Dean of the University of Ghana Law Faculty), Anthony Forson (President of the Ghana Bar Association), Maxwell Opoku Agyemang and Christopher Archer.
The General Council is scheduled to investigate and hear out what caused Dr. Dominic Ayine to make those comments.
