One of the most admirable beauties of practicing democracy is the free will to organize demonstrations with the intent of making known grievances for it to be addressed. In Africa, it seems the only language the authorities understand is when the masses raise their voices for honesty, transparency, and compassion against corruption, lying, and greed.
The street remains one of the quickest resorts to seeking redress and it will remain so for a long time since it will push the government to do better and be more accountable to the masses. A neutral body that is devoid of any party affiliation has emerged and they are known as arise Ghana. It is comprised of people from all walks of life who are demonstrating against the hardships in the country.
These activists are looking forward to demonstrating for two days successively, starting from the 28th to 29th of June. Media men have agreed to participate and Captain Smart has also made known his intentions.
Speaking this morning, the ace broadcasters bemoaned that this political administration is a collaboration of Politicians, Religious Leaders, and Key State Security Officials. Each of these elements benefits from the system they have created and nobody is brave enough, to tell the truth.
He opined that "I will partake in arise Ghana demo, we have to organize demonstration every week. Dampare, the IGP Doesn't have money for petrol, and the interior ministry budget has not been approved. It's about time as a country we realize that things aren't right. We have been brainwashed for far too long and as a people, we must rise to demand accountability."
