Our Forefathers Were Not Gay - Ghanaians Blast LGBT Rights Group For Holding An Online Protest

The official management of the popular LGBT+ Rights Group in the Republic of Ghana have taken their activism for gay rights to another level and some Ghanaians are not taking it lightly with them. The group embarked on an online protest today against the criminalization of homosexuality in the country, they urged the members of the LGBT+ community and their supporters (allies) to participate in the ongoing online protest despite the backlash from homophobic Ghanaians.

According to the LGBT Rights Group, this ongoing online protest is their first virtual protest to voice their feelings on the onslaught of hate, bigotry and violence across the lgbt community in Ghana. They also stated clearly in a viral social media post that the colour 'red' of the country's flag stands for the blood of our forefathers which were shed for us. It is also the symbolic color for Ghanaian solemnity, protest, and mourning.
