
Two armed robbers caught by police in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, have each been sentenced to 20 years in prison for robbery.
The two suspects, Emeka Opara and Samuel Kalo, were apprehended on May 30, 2022, following an attack on a victim at ECOBANK, Abrepo Junction, where they managed to flee with a bag holding thirty thousand Ghana cedis (GH 30,000.00).
The GH 30, 000.00 was recovered by the police, and they were successfully prosecuted .
"We have displayed their photographs in accordance with our new standard operating procedure because the two have been officially convicted and are no longer suspects," Ghana Police official release said.
"Any member of the public who recognizes them as suspects in other crimes is urged to contact the local police station for assistance."
The Ghanaian police service had reassured the public that the Police Department will continue to battle crime and prosecute criminals.
