Ghanaian legal practitioner and professor of Law, professor Kwaku Asare popularly known as Kweku Azar has expressed gratitude to Kweku Baako, for sharing a copy of the report of the committee to review power purchase agreements of the ECG (April 2017, final report).
He said this is the beginning of the show as he believe the team that represented the country at the arbitration have those serious questions to address to the country.
According to him, his initial reaction was to scan the pages for redaction. But to his utter chagrin, the report was completely unredacted.
And his next question was why this unredacted copy could not be made available to the arbitration panel when it specifically asked for it and when $170M was at stake?
He further indicated that he was extremely disturbed when he read the panel’s statement about the redaction.
"I am utterly puzzled that an unredacted copy was available but for reasons, yet unknown, was not made available to the panel"
I believe the team that represented us at the arbitration should address this question.
