A few days ago, the Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram Constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon Sam Nartey George had an interview with CNN journalist, Larry Madowo. Sam George overpowered the CNN journalist and prove to him that Ghana is not ready to accept LGBTQ and that the bill against LGBTQ will definitely be passed by parliament.
This statement has angered a Ghanaian parent who has a transgender 'son'. Checking the facial expression of this woman, she might be in her 60s and the 'son' might be in his 20s. According to her, when she got pregnant she had wanted a boy as a first child and behold it was a boy but the nurses said that this child look like a girl. She said, "When I sent him to the weighing the nurses themselves have been saying that this is a girl". The 'man' seated beside her is the one she is talking about.
But as he grows, he started manifesting ladies features and behaviour. We did everything we could to stop him but we couldn't. "From the beginning, it wasn't easy because I am a Christian, a born again for that matter and the dad too is a reverend minister. We train our children with Christian values" - the woman said. She added that when her son started behaving like a transgender she went before God in prayer and fasting and she heard the voice of God loud and clear "I created her in my own image to save people like her".
What this woman is trying to say is that even God support his 'son' that he is a transgender thus according to the revelation God told her when she fasted and prayed. So she said that "I love my 'son' and am ready to face anyone who doesn't want to accept him for what he is. I think that MP, Sam George is mad. He doesn't know what mothers go through before giving birth to their children".
The woman told Hon Sam George that she is ready to face him wherever he is and defend the right of her child. She, therefore, call on the President of the land, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to stand up and defend the weak in society, the LGBTQ people. She stated, "Nana Addo, I know you are a man with a good heart. Please, stand up and defend the weak (LGBTQ people). I remember how you helped me with a free lawyer sometimes ago when I had an issue in court, you might not remember but that meant a lot to me. Please, stand up and protect our children they are also human beings".
