"No adjectives exist to adequately describe this heinous atrocity. This act is shocking and utterly abhorrent for a civilized society." These were the words of Judge Mary Wiseman after the verdict had been passed, and China Arnold was sentenced to life in prison without parole on September 8, 2008, for killing her 3-week-old daughter by putting her in a microwave oven!
The murder of her baby, Paris Talley, came as a result of an argument with her boyfriend over the child's biological father. The sad event took place on August 5, 2005, and investigation showed that Arnold broke down after the argument and decided to put the child in the microwave, burning the baby to death.
It came as a shock to the American society, what a mother can do to her own baby at the point of depression and uncontrolled anger. This sad event simply added to the many mothers who have killed their own babies out of psychological or emotional stress.
