Nigerian Commercial Sex Worker Accuses DCE Of Having Collapsed Her Job After Demolition Exercise.

An Asankragwa-based Nigerian sex worker in the Amenfi West Municipality of the Western Region has expressed dissatisfaction at the frustrations she has been going through following the recent demolition exercise the Municipal Chief Executive carried out within the township.

Interacting with a section of the media, Rose Ella who identified herself as an alleged commercial sex worker from Nigeria said that sex workers in Asankragwa are currently in disarray after their brothels were demolished by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon.Lord Nana Tandoh.

Ella narrated that she has been in the country for just one month after she was lured into the business by a lady who is currently based at Praso in the Central Region.

My Madam is currently at Praso and she brought me from Nigeria and said I will have to pay her an amount of GH¢15,000 before I will have my freedom.

I have been sleeping with men all day to repay my debt on time adding that she pays GH¢400 every week to her.

At certain times I make GH¢ 300, l have to pay her GH¢280 and keep the difference of GH¢20 for myself, the sex worker said.

But as part of the agreement l still owes her about GH¢8000 and l am already tired of this job,” she narrated.

Moreover the MCE has used his Task Force to collapse the business so what should l do, the sex worker asked journalists.

According to Ella there are many benefits to become a Madam in the commercial sex business than a beginner.

Therefore l am not ready to give up on the job anytime soon.

It is frustrating I have to sleep with men and give the money to another person but I have no option so I want to pay my debts off to my Madam and also go for girls from Nigeria to come and work for me.

She said there are times the job is good and at other times she don’t even get a man to service her in exchange for money.

Responding to the move by the Municipal Chief Executive for demolishing their brothels, Ella indicated that their presence in the area poses no security threat.

Stressing that they were only there to work just like any other Ghanaian though the job is not all that attractive, and our reasons are that we have been looking for jobs and nobody is ready to work with us so this is where we also find our daily bread.
