Justice for the media houses and journalists in Ghana.

Yesterday, Joy news interviewed Ing. Kenneth Ashigbey, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Telecommunications Chamber, about the threats by MP. Honourable Kennedy Agyapong to journalists in Ghana. The Honourable Kennedy Agyapong earlier on Net2tv on Monday 12 July 2021, said "the Joyfm reporter has to be punished for feeding Ghana with a false report on the Ejura incident." He later went on to say that Joyfm can’t bring Ghana and the NPP down and that they are causing mayhem in the country because they want the NPP governments to pay them some money which they won’t.

It seems Ing. Kenneth Ashigbey didn’t take this likely and also shared a few words with Joy News, saying that "journalists and people like myself who have benefited from the work of journalists have decided that enough is enough. We can not continue to allow impunity to reign, we can not allow people to treat journalism as if it were a crime." He later went on to the fact that people think they can do all sorts of things to journalists and nothing will happen, but if all the media houses come together, putting pressure on all the state actors and other related bodies where the petition has been sent, they will get some action taken in this particular situation to help protect their journalists from attacks and threats.
