The journalist was initially remanded for two Weeks in Police custody on charges of publication of fake news with the intent of causing fear and panic contrary to the electronic communications Act 775.
But, in Court today, lawyers of Media General, the parent Company of connect FM were able to secure a bail for the journalist.
He is to report to the Police once a Week to assist in investigations.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges during the Court hearing.
The journalist published the news about an alleged kidnapping case after a caller called to report that, his girlfriend was kidnapped.
He is expected to appear on 16th November for the case to continue.
